A Sip of Humor

Our 4 year old daughter, Emily was listening in on a conversation about baptism between our 7 year old daughter, Hannah and myself. Hannah has been expressing a serious interest in taking this step in her relationship with Christ. While teaching Hannah about baptism, I explained to her that the purpose of it was symbolic in that when we are baptized God washes all our sins away and that our dirty heart becomes clean etc. A little while later, Emily crawls up on my lap and says, " Mommy I want to be baptized!" to which I replied, " That's great Emily, and why do you want to be baptized?" (I wanted to be sure she fully understood the purpose of it) "You know," she insisted rather seriously, "to wash away my SKINS!" Needless to say, I laughed so hard I was practically crying.
